16 August, 2008 Wow. We finally got to Phase Two. Phase two is where five lucky IFB Churches receive Church Commander, before anyone else. Hopewell Baptist Church, in Napa CA, is our home base church, and they were first up. To say things have gone well and everyone is very excited ... is an understatement. We need to find four more churches that want to be part of Phase Two. If you are interested in being a beta tester for the software when we begin Phase Two, please send us an email.
So what is Phase Three? Err, um, well...thats where we turn Church Commander loose to any IFB Church that wants it. Slight problem. We have no idea how to fund the labor for this activity. We have a fundamental objection to charging churching for our services, or for the software. So if we can't charge for it...then how do we roll it out everywhere. Thats the million dollar question. I am open to suggestions. To make the introduction of any software package effective for a church, the church has to have "some level" of hand holding from the "computer pros." These computer pros are students at Golden State Baptist College in Santa Clara, CA, or from West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, CA. Students can't work for free, so there is still a financial issue that has to be addressed. On top of that, "any old student" cannot do this work. It takes my company 4 to 6 months of training before any student has a minimal skill to help a church. So you see...we have a bit of challenge. - Richard Carlton

Church Commander is a FREE software package (based in FileMaker Pro) that is specifically designed to help Independent Baptist Churches manage all facets of their ministries. Church Commander is designed to be easily used by “non computer” people to help organize and run the church. Church
Independent Baptist Churches are encouraged to contact RCC regarding the use and setup of this software. Church Commanders features are always being improved, but it's core functionality includes tracking of people, families, soul winning activities, bus routes, and special projects.
Church Commander is based on the Business Commander database system, which has been well received by the business community.
The Church Commander team is made up entirely of individuals who are actively involved in their local church and it's ministries. During this design phase of the project, RCC is soliciting the advice and guidance of many pastors, missionaries, and church secretaries. This means that the people designing Church Commander are the same people for whom it is being built!
Another interesting aspect of the solution is that RCC will “tailor” it to your church. Have a report you want that no system out there seems to have? Is there a special ministry that no other system covers? Do you need customization that no one seems to offer? The answer is Church Commander. Our team of highly qualified engineers will actually come to your church, examine your needs, interface with those who will be using the system, and customize it to fit! We will then train your people in the use of the system.
Several of our engineers also have other talents/gifts/training. If you need a special music number, pianist, special speaker, or even teen activity chaperone, our engineers are there to help, during their visit to your church. Our goal is not to “install the solution and get out of there”. Our goal is to help your church in any way we can (as directed by you, the pastor) while we are there.
